Inflation rises for third consecutive week

The inflation rate in the country has increased for the third consecutive week.

According to data released by the Bureau of Statistics, the weekly inflation rate has risen by 0.76%.

The annual overall inflation rate on a weekly basis has reached 24.36%.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, the prices of 29 essential items increased while the prices of 5 items decreased over the week.

The data indicates that within a week, the price of chicken increased by 38.29 rupees per kilogram, rising from 373.25 rupees to 412 rupees per kilogram.

A 390-gram bag of powdered milk became 44.89 rupees more expensive, petrol increased by 10 rupees per liter, eggs by 6.78 rupees per dozen, and garlic by 10.42 rupees per kilogram.

Lentils, fresh milk, sugar, rice, and yogurt were also among the items that became more expensive.During the week, tomatoes became cheaper by 7.29 rupees per kilogram, and bananas by 3.62 rupees.

Onions, lentils (Masoor), and LPG were also among the items that became cheaper.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, the prices of 17 items, including bread, cooking oil, tea leaves, and cigarettes, remained stable.
