New Delhi: Indian police have initiated an investigation into a Maharashtra resident woman accused of obtaining a Pakistani visa using a fake name and counterfeit Aadhaar card.
According to Indian media, the woman, named Nagma, from Maharashtra, befriended Babar Bashir Ahmed from Abbottabad on Facebook in 2021. The two later had an online marriage in February 2024.
Nagma applied for a Pakistani visa after her online marriage and used the name Sanam in her documents.
She subsequently traveled to Pakistan and returned to India on July 17. The police, suspecting the case, have instructed the woman not to leave the city and have begun their investigation.
Meanwhile, the woman’s mother stated that after separating from her husband in 2015, her daughter changed her and her children’s names.
