Incident of shoe-hitting on Sharif’s poster: Murree SHO suspended

The SHO of Murree has been suspended following the incident of hooliganism that took place on Mall Road, Murree, on the night of August 14.

Details from an emergency meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi have emerged. According to sources, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held a meeting at the Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi, which was attended by senior officials.

Maryam Nawaz issued strict instructions to prevent such incidents in the future. Upon completion of the inquiry, CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani suspended the SHO of Murree and issued a charge sheet.

Additionally, a fact-finding committee was formed, led by SSP Operations Hafiz Kamran, including CTO Rawalpindi and DSP Security, to investigate the incident. This committee will submit its report to CPO Rawalpindi.

It is worth noting that on August 14, when around 15,000 to 20,000 people were present on Murree Mall Road, a crowd chanted slogans in support of PTI and threw shoes at a hotel where a banner of Nawaz Sharif was displayed.

In response, supporters of another party engaged in intense slogan-shouting and threw firecrackers from the hotel, causing chaos among the public.

The police had to resort to baton charges to bring the situation under control. A terrorism case has also been registered by the police regarding the incident.
