Rawalpindi: PTI founder Imran Khan has expressed his support for Ali Amin Gandapur’s statement regarding negotiations with Afghanistan.
In an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan said he supports Gandapur’s efforts to engage in dialogue and establish peace with Afghanistan.
He suggested that people should approach Gandapur and ask him to pursue talks with Afghanistan.
Khan criticized the Foreign Ministry for focusing on issues other than counter-terrorism, calling it an “absurd statement” and affirming that Gandapur is addressing the right issues.
He pointed out that the federal government talks about cross-border terrorism but does nothing about it, which could jeopardize the country’s economy.
He also mentioned that stopping cross-border terrorism is the federal government’s responsibility and questioned what Gandapur said that was wrong.
Khan highlighted that conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are deteriorating, with the police struggling to protect themselves, and the situation has reached a point of rebellion.
He remarked that simply carrying out an operation is not a solution to the problem.
Khan praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s statement about not supporting any extension, and noted that Gandapur’s recent disappearance is concerning.
He accused the establishment of deceiving him regarding the September 8 rally.
