Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has scheduled hearings for the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Bushra Bibi challenging their arrest in the new Toshakhana case.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz will hear the petitions tomorrow.
The petitions, filed by their lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar and Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry, request that the arrests be deemed unlawful and seek orders for their release.
They also ask that any future arrests in related cases be conditional on court orders.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated a new reference against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, accusing them of acquiring gifts from Toshakhana at undervalued prices and selling them at higher rates.
They were arrested on July 13, and an 8-day physical remand was granted by the NAB court on July 14, with a directive to present them with an updated investigation report by July 22.
The new NAB reference alleges that the couple purchased and sold an expensive Bural jewelry set valued at 75 million rupees.
