California: Starting next month, technology company Google will begin removing thousands of low-quality and inactive applications from its Play Store.
In an effort to ensure a high standard for user experience, the company has updated its spam and low functionality policy.
The new policy targets applications that are “inactive without app-specific functionality,” “contain very little content,” or are “designed to do nothing.”
This includes text-only apps, single wallpaper apps, and those that fail to engage users.
Additionally, apps that crash, fail to install correctly, or are unresponsive will also be removed from the platform.
