Flood warning system stolen in Rawalpindi

In Rawalpindi, the flood early warning system installed by the Meteorological Department has been stolen.

The system, installed at the Katarian site of Nala Lai, included solar panels and sensors which were also stolen along with the flood early warning system.

Batteries and cables attached to the early warning system were also stolen.

The New Town police station has registered a case regarding the theft of the Meteorological Department’s system.

The case was registered on the complaint of the department’s electronic engineer.

According to the FIR, the thieves broke the locks and took valuable batteries, solar plates, copper cables, boards, and boxes.

The modern system was installed to provide information about flood situations and water levels.

It is notable that the early warning system for flood situations was imported from Japan.
