Karachi: The first suspected case of monkeypox has emerged in Sindh.
According to the Sindh Health Department spokesperson, a 32-year-old traveler arriving from Jeddah to Karachi has shown symptoms of monkeypox.
Samples from the suspected case have been sent to the Dow Ojha Campus laboratory for confirmation.
The affected individual has been quarantined at the Nepa Infectious Diseases Hospital to control the potential spread of the disease.
The spokesperson stated that the symptoms observed in the traveler, which include rash, fever, and body aches, are consistent with monkeypox.
The traveler will remain in quarantine until the final report is received.
