FIA appeals discharge of Sanam Javed from case as court adjourns hearing

Islamabad: The FIA has filed an appeal against the decision to discharge Sanam Javed from the case.

In the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad, the duty judge’s decision to discharge Sanam Javed from the FIA case was challenged in an appeal heard by District Additional and Sessions Judge Afzal Majooka.

FIA prosecutor Sheikh Aamir appeared before the court.During the hearing, the FIA prosecutor informed the court that the duty magistrate had no authority to discharge the case.

No record of the case was presented to the Islamabad High Court. The Islamabad High Court had requested records related to cases in Balochistan and police matters.

The prosecutor argued that no record from the FIA was requested by the Islamabad High Court and no representative from the FIA had appeared in the High Court.

Later, the court issued notices to the parties and adjourned the case until July 23.
