Islamabad: Federal Minister for Industry and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has emphasized that economic growth can only be achieved by increasing exports.
During a meeting in Islamabad with a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), led by FPCCI President Ateeq Ikram Sheikh, the federal minister stated that the government is making every effort to provide relief to the public and businesses.
He added that the government is establishing special economic zones to encourage investment and is working to address the issues faced by the industry.
Ateeq Ikram Sheikh, President of FPCCI, mentioned that if the government provides relief on electricity tariffs, the business community could achieve an export target of $60 billion.
He also highlighted the need to align energy prices with those of regional countries and to move towards industrialization to escape the IMF and boost national exports.
