Rawalpindi: Federal Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, stated that discussions will be held with the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, and all details will be shared after the negotiations.
Upon arriving at the Commissioner’s Office, the Federal Minister of Information spoke to the media, mentioning that Jamaat-e-Islami has concerns regarding electricity issues.
However, consumers using up to 200 units of electricity have already been given a subsidy of 50 billion rupees.
Attaullah Tarar mentioned that the government is also initiating solar projects and plans to shut down plants running on diesel and oil.
The installation of solar tube wells will reduce electricity consumption. These measures aim to produce affordable and quality electricity, thereby lowering electricity prices.
He clarified that there has been no change in the government’s negotiation team. Awais Leghari is not present in the country as he is in China.
On the other hand, a delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami, led by Liaqat Baloch, has also arrived at the Commissioner’s Office for the negotiations.
The government’s negotiation team includes Federal Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister of Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Maqam, senior leader of the Muslim League (N) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Badr Shahbaz.
