Rawalpindi: Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, stated that the government agrees with the points raised by the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation and is working day and night to provide relief to the public.
Speaking to the media alongside Engineer Amir Maqam and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry after negotiations with the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation, the Federal Minister for Information said that the discussions took place in a very pleasant and friendly environment.
The Jamaat-e-Islami delegation presented a list of ten demands, most of which pertain to electricity.
The Federal Minister said that the government agrees with the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation’s points and is working tirelessly to provide relief to the public.
He mentioned that the government has ordered the immediate release of 35 members of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Atta Tarar added that efforts are being made to reduce government expenses.
He mentioned that financial space will be created through privatization, FBR digitization, and economic reforms, and relief will be transferred to the public.
The Federal Minister stated that if oil prices decrease in the international market, relief will be provided to the public.
The government will take all possible steps to improve the situation. The investment from friendly countries will bring improvements and create employment opportunities
Atta Tarar announced the formation of a technical committee that includes the Minister of Water and Power, the Secretary of Energy, representatives from the FBR, and the Ministry of Finance.
He expressed hope that the next round of negotiations would begin tomorrow and that matters would be resolved amicably.
Engineer Amir Maqam, speaking to the media, said that the technical committee will hold discussions with Jamaat-e-Islami tomorrow, and efforts are being made to keep the country running smoothly.
