Federal Cabinet decides to present Election Act Amendment Bill in National Assembly

The Federal Cabinet has decided to present the Election Act Amendment Bill in the National Assembly.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the agenda was partially approved.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed clear solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians, stating that the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh would further ignite the Palestinian dream of freedom.

According to sources, the Federal Cabinet has also decided to introduce the Election Act Amendment Bill in the National Assembly.

Three days ago, the Election Act Amendment Bill was presented in the National Assembly, and Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq directed that it be referred to the parliamentary committee for approval.

The following day, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs approved the bill with a majority of 8 votes, while 4 votes were against it, and Shahida Akhtar did not participate in the voting.

The bill stipulates that any declaration of affiliation with a political party cannot be altered.
