Faisal Vawda: Faiz Hameed provided evidence of Imran Khan’s involvement in May 9 riots

Islamabad: Senator Faisal Vawda has stated that the current political instability is the responsibility of Imran Khan.

He mentioned that while multiple cases are ongoing against him in courts, he cannot claim to be an advocate of law and democracy. He previously revealed that Faiz Hameed, a close aide of Imran Khan, provided evidence of Imran Khan’s involvement in the May 9th riots.

Imran Khan has admitted that he instructed his supporters to go to GHQ. Vawda noted that while parties like the PML-N, PPP, JUI, and MQM have previously opposed the establishment, they eventually sat down to negotiate with it.

When asked if Faiz Hameed had advised protesting in front of GHQ on May 9th, Vawda responded that it was not Faiz Hameed’s advice, but Imran Khan was indeed a part of the entire scenario.

Vawda pointed out that the real threat to the government is not a technocrat government or martial law but the ongoing power struggle within the PML-N.

He also stated that the IMF has already made a deal with the finance minister and that the implementation of decisions regarding reserved seats will not occur.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Vawda expressed confusion over the discussions about constitutional breakdown and suggested that ministers should admit their incompetence to earn more respect from the nation.

He urged the PML-N to resolve its internal disputes and avoid leading the country towards political instability.

Economic indicators are improving, with a decrease in interest rates, which means inflation is also going down.

Vawda suggested that discussions should be held with IPPs regarding power contracts, noting that these political parties had previously made agreements with IPPs for payments in dollars.

He alleged that such agreements often involve kickbacks and warned that decisions on reserved seats will not be implemented, as the Election Commission, Parliament, Speaker of the National Assembly, and President are obstructing the process.

He emphasized that amending the constitution is the job of Parliament, and interpreting it is the Supreme Court’s responsibility. There is a need to dispel the impression that a judicial martial law has been imposed.

On May 9th, the establishment was very clear, and regardless of who becomes the Army Chief in the future, the military will remain engaged in its battles. There are good people within political parties who should be given a chance.

Vawda claimed that 90% of his predictions have proven accurate, and while politics will heat up in September and October, the government is not at risk. He also stated that there is no urgent need for a forward bloc within PTI, as any forward bloc will be carefully selected.
