Emergency landing due to lice infestation on passenger’s head

Los Angeles: An American Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing due to lice infestation on a female passenger’s head.

According to a report by an Indian news agency, American Airlines Flight 2201, traveling from Los Angeles to New York, made an emergency landing after a complaint was made about lice crawling in a female passenger’s hair.

A passenger on the flight, Ethan Judelson, described the incident in a TikTok video, stating that the crew had provided very little information about the emergency landing.

In his video, Mr. Judelson described that while he observed no visible panic among the passengers, one woman hurried to the front of the aircraft as soon as they landed.

After the emergency landing, Judelson overheard fellow passengers discussing that two people had seen lice crawling in a woman’s hair, leading them to inform the flight attendant.

American Airlines later confirmed in a statement that the flight was diverted and made an emergency landing due to a medical emergency.

Passengers were informed of a 12-hour delay and were given hotel vouchers.

The incident occurred on June 15, and the flight from Los Angeles to New York was diverted to Phoenix due to the medical emergency.
