During an expedition on the world’s second-highest peak, two Japanese climbers have gone missing after falling from an altitude of 7,000 meters.
According to Deputy Commissioner Waliullah, the Japanese climbers fell from a very high altitude. They were climbing the southern section of K2 using alpine style, without ropes.
He mentioned that the accident occurred at an altitude of 7,000 meters, and both aerial and ground rescue operations seem unlikely.
On the other hand, Pakistani climbers Imtiaz Siddiqui, Ali Durrani, and Ashraf Siddiqui, among others, have successfully summited K2.
