The decision has been made to further increase the salaries of government employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the budget, the salaries of employees up to grade 16 were increased by 10%, which has now been decided to increase to 25%.
For employees above grade 17, a 20% salary increase will be implemented.According to Advisor to the Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam, pensions have also been increased by an additional 10%.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced a 10% increase in salaries for all government employees in the budget.
The budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 was presented in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.In a video statement, Advisor to the Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam stated that the federal government had announced a 25% increase for employees in grades 1 to 16, a 20% increase for those above grade 17, and a 15% increase in pensions.
According to the advisor, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has now also approved the increase in salaries and pensions in line with the federal government’s decision.
He mentioned that the notification for the additional salary increase will be issued soon. This increase will place an additional burden of 75 to 80 billion rupees on the provincial treasury.
