Lahore: The Punjab Police Special Cell has apprehended a dangerous fugitive who had been on the run for six years from Saudi Arabia.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the fugitive, Ghulam Abbas, had been wanted by the Gujranwala police since 2018 for the abduction and attempted murder of a woman.
The Special Operations Cell issued a Red Notice for the fugitive through Interpol.
With close cooperation from Saudi police, the fugitive was apprehended and subsequently deported back to Pakistan.
The spokesperson added that the Special Operations Cell team took custody of the fugitive upon arrival at the airport.
The total number of fugitives arrested from abroad this year has now reached 70.
