Karachi: According to news, Pakistan Customs Enforcement Karachi launched a major operation in response to increasing complaints of smuggled Iranian petroleum products at specific fuel stations in the city, based on confidential information.
The operation, conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, has led to the ongoing anti-smuggling campaign.
Last night, Customs Enforcement, working with law enforcement, intercepted a large quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel being transferred to a fuel station under cover of darkness.
Deputy Collector Customs Enforcement Muhammad Raza Naqvi told Express that on receiving a tip-off, surveillance was conducted on suspicious oil tankers coming from Balochistan on the RCD Highway.
During this, an oil tanker delivering smuggled Iranian diesel to a fuel station in Rais Goth near Mochko was closely monitored. When the tanker arrived at the station and began unloading, authorities raided the site and seized 11,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel.
The Customs Department has filed a case and confiscated the diesel and dump truck, valued at 13 million rupees, which has been transferred to the Customs ASO warehouse.
