Coaches advocate for leniency towards players; PCB urged not to take action

The Pakistan cricket team’s white-ball coach Gary Kirsten and Test format coach Jason Gillespie have made a significant appeal to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

According to reports by Indian news agency PTI, coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie have requested Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, not to take disciplinary action against players who violated conduct rules during the T20 World Cup.

The coaches believe that the threat of disciplinary action could distract the players from focusing on the upcoming international season.

It is worth noting that during the tours of Ireland, England, and the T20 World Cup, reports emerged of some players mistreating coaches and disregarding team management plans.

Recently, a committee formed by the PCB has completed preparations to take action against national team players who violated discipline. A special committee has been set up to investigate these violations.

Additionally, there are rumors that senior players who performed poorly in the T20 World Cup might be dropped for the tour of Bangladesh, and some players might be excluded due to fitness issues.
