Dhaka: In Bangladesh, students have launched a civil disobedience movement, and on the first day of protests, at least 12 people have been killed.
The students are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Students in Bangladesh have taken to the streets once again, initiating a civil disobedience campaign with demands for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
Thousands have gathered to protest against the government.
According to Reuters, clashes between the police and protesters have resulted in at least 12 deaths and numerous injuries so far.
Bangladeshi media reports that the government has imposed a curfew starting from 6 PM and has once again shut down internet services across the country.
It is noteworthy that last month, protests erupted against the 30% job quota for children of 1971 war veterans, resulting in 200 deaths.
Following these protests, the Supreme Court abolished the quota system, but students have vowed to continue their protests and civil disobedience until justice is served for their peers.
