He mentioned that he enjoys playing snooker, cycles in his free time, and admires singer Atif Aslam. His favorite batsman is South Africa’s AB de Villiers, and his favorite bowler is Australia’s Pat Cummins.
During a discussion on a YouTube channel with South African cricketer AB de Villiers, Babar Azam shared that he often seeks advice from Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root to improve his batting techniques.
When asked about the most challenging bowler he has faced, Babar named Pat Cummins. De Villiers agreed, stating that Cummins is the toughest bowler he has encountered.
It is notable that despite being dismissed by Cummins three times in Tests and once in ODIs, Babar Azam has an average of 52.3 in Test matches and 86 in ODIs against him. Remarkably, Cummins has never managed to dismiss Babar in Twenty20 matches.
