Several companies have developed foldable phones, but Apple has yet to release one.
A report claims that Apple’s first foldable smartphone may be introduced in 2026. According to the report, the initial foldable iPhone will be a flip-style device.
The report further states that Apple will start research and development for the foldable iPhone in 2024.
Typically, Apple’s smartphone development process takes about two years, which is why the foldable iPhone is expected to launch by 2026.
The foldable screen for this device will be supplied by a South Korean company, and Apple has already signed a contract for it.
The report also suggests that when the flip iPhone is opened, its size will be similar to current iPhones.
Earlier reports had indicated that Apple’s first foldable device might be an iPad tablet, but it appears the company has changed its strategy.
