Islamabad: Following the cancellation of Sher Afzal Marwat’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) membership, Marwat contacted Barrister Gohar, offering to resign from both the National Assembly and the party. He also sent an authority letter to Barrister Gohar.
Sources indicate that Sher Afzal Marwat reached out to Barrister Gohar Ali Khan regarding his expulsion from PTI and discussed the cancellation of his party membership.
Marwat offered to resign from both the party and the National Assembly. Barrister Gohar requested time to consult with the PTI founder about the matter.
Sources added that Barrister Gohar informed Marwat that he considers it necessary to consult with the PTI founder on significant decisions.
Marwat also asked Barrister Gohar to stop PTI leaders from making statements against him.
Additionally, Marwat has sent his resignation authority letter to Barrister Gohar.
It is noted that PTI’s Deputy General Secretary, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, had issued a notification the previous day cancelling Marwat’s basic party membership and demanding his resignation from the National Assembly as well.
Marwat’s expulsion led to internal disagreements within PTI, as Barrister Gohar expressed ignorance of the development, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also took a similar stance.
