Hockey is being run on shoestring, says PHF President

Pakistan Hockey Federation President Tariq Baghti stated that the federation is still being operated with a push, similar to the old system, and that hockey cannot be run without funding.

He mentioned that the team has been sent to the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy in China on borrowed tickets, and the match against India on September 14 is very important.

The PHF President expressed that while they have managed to get out of the difficult situation they were in with government support, more support is needed to run the national sport effectively.

The federation president added that the more help they receive from the government, the better the results will be.

He has written a letter to the IG Sindh to help the federation gain control of the Karachi Eidhi Stadium.

He also mentioned that next week, they will go to establish the federation’s authority at the stadium.
