Floods in Bangladesh devastate; millions displaced and 25 dead

Dhaka: Floodwaters have wreaked havoc across 11 districts in Bangladesh, destroying everything in their path.

According to global news agencies, the floods have devastated over 200 villages, with about 50 completely submerged, and the floodwaters continue to advance.

So far, over 500 ponds and 2,500 acres of land used for fish farming have been inundated.

Fishermen report that not only have their homes but also their investments have been submerged. Many acres of crops have also suffered severe damage.

A total of 64,000 displaced individuals have sought refuge in 724 shelter centers, with more than 830,000 people still trapped in the floodwaters.

Rescue operations continue, and the recovery of bodies is ongoing. Over 25 people have been reported dead, with fears of an increase in fatalities.
