Telecom operators’ cybersecurity audit begins

Islamabad: A cybersecurity audit of telecom operators has commenced to ensure cybersecurity in Pakistan.

According to PTA sources, a final review of the cybersecurity audit conducted by global standard companies will be carried out by the PTA.

The audit will cover all technical aspects of telecom operators’ cybersecurity.

Sources indicate that the audit will also assess the implementation status of the PTA’s cybersecurity framework by telecom companies.

Under the cybersecurity framework, the audit will check whether firewalls are in place.

Additionally, PTA sources mentioned that the security clearances of telecom operators’ staff will be reviewed, and measures will be taken to ensure that customer data is not leaked.
