Karachi: During the first 7 months of this year, there has been a 135% increase in dengue cases in Sindh compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the health department, 440 dengue cases were reported in Sindh from January to July last year, while 1,034 cases have been reported in the first seven months of this year.
So far this year, a total of 1,167 dengue cases have been reported in Sindh, with 1,022 of them from Karachi.
This year, 83 dengue cases were reported in Hyderabad, 34 in Mirpur Khas, 12 in Sukkur, and 8 cases each in Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad.
The highest number of dengue cases in Karachi this year, 329, were reported from District East. So far this year, one death due to dengue has been reported in Sindh, which was from Karachi.
