New Delhi: The Indian government has imposed a ban on 156 Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs.
FDCs are medications that combine two or more active pharmaceutical ingredients in a fixed ratio, often referred to as “cocktail” drugs.
The Indian government has banned these 156 FDCs due to concerns about their potential risks to human health.
This includes antibacterial drugs used for treating colds, allergies, fever, and pain.
The decision came from a specialist committee and the Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB), which found that these combinations, including antibacterial drugs, lacked therapeutic justification and posed significant health risks.
