Pakistani model and dancer Matheera has shared her perspective on marriage, emphasizing that it should not be the sole focus of one’s life. In a recent podcast interview, she addressed men who struggle to find a spouse due to issues like lack of fitness or obesity.
Matheera advised, “It’s not necessary for men to look like Bollywood stars. If a man is not getting married, it’s not a big deal. If you don’t get married, you won’t die. We have made marriage the sole purpose of our lives, whether you are a man or a woman.
Men should first establish their career, home, and identity before thinking about marriage. A wife should be given, not taken.”
She further elaborated, “I believe that if someone does not support you in difficult times, they shouldn’t be expected to be there for the good times either. I
n Pakistan, it’s common for people to criticize actors or actresses for their weight or appearance, saying things like they should be thinner or lighter-skinned, which is wrong.”
Matheera also mentioned, “If someone’s weight is above 100 kg, they should consider losing weight. But if someone is of normal weight or not a zero size, no one has the right to tell them they should become a zero size.”
She concluded by stating, “Both men and women have different body types and issues. Women face more challenges than men, yet men easily criticize women for their weight.”
