Lahore: Further revelations have emerged in the investigation of the murder of Dr. Shahid Siddique, a private hospital owner and PTI leader.
According to the police, it has come to light that the deceased Dr. Shahid’s son, Qayyum, conspired with an accomplice to kill his father.
The son wanted to marry a girl whom his father opposed, and he had already arranged a murder attempt in January.
The police state that the son initially paid 5 million rupees for the first attempt on his father’s life in January and later arranged a second attack for 20 million rupees.
The police report that a white car was involved in surveilling Dr. Shahid from 9:50 AM on Friday.
The car, which was being driven by Qayyum, followed Dr. Shahid as he withdrew money from the bank and distributed it to the needy.
During this time, the suspicious car continued to track Dr. Shahid
Footage has surfaced of the son conducting his father’s funeral, and police have also detained an accomplice of the son who was involved in the surveillance.
It is recalled that Dr. Shahid Siddique was shot outside a mosque three days ago after Friday prayers and succumbed to his injuries.
