Islamabad to launch major crackdown against shopping plastic bags

Islamabad: The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has decided to launch a major crackdown to stop the use of shopping plastic bags, which contribute to pollution.

For this crackdown, the DC Islamabad has formed 8 teams.

The DC Islamabad stated that these teams will conduct operations against the use of plastic bags in various parts of the city, and all Assistant Commissioners of Islamabad will oversee these teams.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz mentioned that it is everyone’s responsibility to stop the use of polyethylene bags, as their use contributes to increased environmental pollution.

On this occasion, the DC Islamabad appealed to citizens to support the district administration in the fight against plastic bags.
