Two Indian soldiers commit suicide in Occupied Kashmir and Manipur

In occupied Kashmir and the state of Manipur, two Indian Army personnel have ended their lives due to mental stress and despondency.

According to Indian media, the first incident occurred in the Kupwara district of Occupied Kashmir, where Border Security Force personnel Ram Kumar shot himself with his service rifle.

Although the officer was taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way due to excessive blood loss.

The cause of the suicide remains undetermined, and an inquiry committee has been established.

Similarly, in the conflict-ridden state of Manipur, a soldier also committed suicide using his service rifle.

The soldier has been identified as Prasanna Kumar, and the Indian Army has been unable to determine the cause of his death.

Suicides among personnel in India due to low morale, mental stress, and mistreatment by officers are common.

A report by the Indian Ministry of Defence acknowledged this issue and an investigative committee was formed, but it too fell victim to traditional inefficacy.
