Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has stated that the government is not against social media but is focusing on establishing rules and regulations.
Once these regulations are in place, the ban on X (formerly Twitter) will be lifted.
Speaking to Geo News outside the Lahore High Court, Bukhari remarked that the founder of PTI has become mentally disturbed while being in jail.
She pointed out the contradictions in his statements, noting that he simultaneously demands the army appoint a representative and claims Mohsin Naqvi is the army’s representative.
She added that the founder of PTI’s wishes will not be fulfilled, nor is there a readiness to fulfill them.
However, there is no restriction on dreaming, so he should continue dreaming.
She emphasized that the founder of PTI should first apologize and acknowledge their mistakes before making further demands.
Regarding social media regulations, Bukhari explained that while they are not against social media, they are advocating for rules and regulations.
Many countries have established laws for social media to address issues of misuse and digital terrorism.
Once regulations are implemented, the ban on X will be lifted, and all accounts should operate under these regulations.
Bukhari also mentioned that the solar program will be extended to consumers using 100 to 500 units, acknowledging the public’s hardships.
She noted that Nawaz Sharif had freed Pakistan from IMF constraints, but the country is now facing tough IMF conditions.
