37% Increase in agricultural and food product exports this year: Trade Development Authority

Karachi: For the first time in the country’s history, the export of agricultural and food products is expected to surpass $10 billion. This year, exports of agricultural and food products have increased by 37%.

This was stated by the Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority, Zubair Motiwala, during a press conference on Thursday.

He announced that the Food and Agri Exhibition under the auspices of TDAP will commence at the Karachi Expo Center from August 9 and will continue until August 11.

The exhibition will be attended by 1,000 delegates from 75 countries.

At the exhibition, 350 local exhibitors will set up stalls to display their products.

The largest delegation, consisting of 200 delegates, will come from China, which will be given the status of Guest of Honor and provided with bulletproof vehicles for transportation.

The second largest participation in the Food and Agri Exhibition will be from African countries.

Last year, $410 million worth of agreements were signed at this exhibition, while this year, agreements worth $1 billion are expected.

This year, 14 more countries will participate in the exhibition, including major chain stores from Europe and the United States.

Zubair Motiwala also mentioned that a special Pak-China Trade Conference will be held at the Food and Agri Exhibition.

The estimated cost of organizing the Food and Agri Exhibition is 150 million rupees.
