Rain in Lahore: 5 people, including a child, die from electrocution and collapsing walls

Lahore: During record rainfall in the provincial capital of Punjab, incidents of electrocution and collapsing roofs and walls have resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including a child, and multiple injuries.

According to media, in Nishat Colony, Lahore, a young man died from electrocution caused by rainwater contacting an electric pole.

The young man, whose identity is yet to be determined, was on his way to get breakfast for his home.

Rescue officials reported that another incident occurred in the Chung Amarsadhu Niazi Chowk area of Kot Lakhpat, where a 14-year-old boy drowned in the rainwater.

The boy was identified as 14-year-old Abdullah, son of Altaf.

In Nishter Colony, Lahore, the roof of a mud house collapsed, resulting in the death of 3-year-old Kiran, while five others were injured under the debris and were transferred to the hospital for medical aid.

Police reported that in Kot Lakhpat, a man named Ashiq Ali died from electrocution in the rainwater.

The police have taken the body into custody and started an investigation.

In another incident near Shaukat Khanum Chowk, a roof made of wood collapsed, injuring two individuals.

Due to the heavy rainfall in Lahore, a wall collapsed in Kahna, killing seven goats under the debris.

Rescue 1122 stated in a report that in Defense Phase 7, a 41-year-old man named Ghulam Mustafa died from electrocution. His body has been handed over to the police.
