New bench formed to hear petitions against arrest of Imran and Bushra in Toshakhana Case

A new bench has been formed to hear the petitions against the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.

The Islamabad High Court’s division bench, consisting of Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, will hear the Toshakhana case today.

On July 25, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz conducted the hearing.

The PTI founder had requested Chief Justice Aamer Farooq not to hear the case.

Lawyers argued that the PTI founder had filed a complaint against the Chief Justice in the Supreme Judicial Council, thus requesting the Chief Justice not to hear the case.

However, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq dismissed the request to recuse himself due to the filed reference.

As Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz is on leave and unavailable to hear the case, a new division bench has been constituted to proceed with the hearing.
