Lahore: According to media, Lahore Traffic Police has tightened its grip on those who have failed to pay electronic challans, apprehending a car that reached a double century in traffic violations.
The car owner committed 112 violations at traffic signals, 101 speeding violations, and 8 lane violations. In total, the owner violated traffic laws 221 times, with a fine of 108,915 rupees immediately paid.
This is the largest recovery made from a defaulter of electronic challans.
CTO Lahore Amara Athar stated that owners of vehicles with unpaid electronic challans cannot avail police services.
In cases of electronic challan default, 14 services including driving licenses, character certificates, and verifications will not be available.
She also mentioned that a crackdown is ongoing against tampering with vehicle number plates to avoid electronic challans. Traffic load management, monitoring, and surveillance are being ensured with the help of cameras.
