Islamabad: The recent digital census report reveals that the number of unmarried individuals in the country has reached 42.5 million.
According to the census report, the number of unmarried individuals has increased by approximately 5.2 million over the past six years. In 2017, the number of unmarried individuals was 37.3 million.
The statistics bureau’s report indicates that Punjab has the highest number of unmarried individuals at 23.6 million, followed by Sindh with 9.586 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 6.672 million, Balochistan with 2.181 million, and Islamabad with 486,000.
The report also states that the number of married individuals in the country is 94.5 million, showing an increase of 14.2 million over the past six years.
Additionally, the recent census has shown a decrease in the number of divorced and widowed women. The number of divorced women stands at 499,000, down from 515,000 in 2017.
The statistics bureau compiled this report based on data from individuals aged 15 and above.
