Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb to Visit China for Key Talks

Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb will depart for China today on a three-day visit to discuss the rescheduling of a $15 billion energy loan. 

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, a joint working group between Pakistan and China may be established for the loan rescheduling. Discussions will also cover issues related to China’s energy circular debt.

The Ministry of Finance further noted that China’s energy circular debt is approximately 500 billion rupees.

During the visit, the Finance Minister will also discuss Panda bonds, with Pakistan seeking to secure a $30 million Panda bond in China.
