Peshawar: In North Waziristan, a government girls’ school was destroyed by explosive materials.
According to Provincial Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarkai, unknown individuals blew up the Government Girls High School Fazal Ilahi Zireki at midnight.
The blast completely demolished seven rooms of the school.
The school had 255 students enrolled. Following the incident, the Director of Education and the relevant Deputy Commissioner have been instructed to conduct an investigation.
The Minister of Education stated that the school will be reactivated very soon.
He emphasized that special attention is being given to educational activities in tribal districts and such incidents will not dampen their resolve. Educational reforms will continue unabated.
He added that women’s education is a top priority for the provincial government, and there will be no compromise on it.
