Imran Khan claims he may be sent to military jail for 9 May cases

Islamabad: PTI founder Imran Khan has stated that he believes he will be sent to a military jail on the 9 May cases. He claims that the plan is to place him in a military jail and transfer him to a military court.

According to News, while addressing the media during the hearing of the 190 million pounds reference, Imran Khan gave a clarifying statement regarding the 9 May attacks.

He said, “I had said that if I am arrested, we will hold a peaceful protest in front of GHQ, but I have never allowed any vandalism or violent protests. The CCTV footage of the 9 May incidents was stolen by the ISI.”

He condemned the arrests of Barrister Gohar and Hassan Raoof.

Imran Khan mentioned that Atta Tarar claims he is in a VIP room in jail. He challenged Atta Tarar to visit him and for the media to tour his room for two minutes. He said, “The walls of the death cell and the cell for terrorism cases are next to my room.”

He criticized the Chief Justice of Pakistan for the quick review of PTI’s reserved seats petition, questioning why there is no hearing for their petition dated 25 May.

He claimed the Supreme Court is now biased, with PTI workers in military jails, and suggested that there is a plan to also place him in military jail for the 9 May cases and transfer him to a military court.

Imran Khan criticized Serena Isa’s statements against him on social media, suggesting that ethically, the Chief Justice should not hear cases against them.

He said he would instruct PTI’s members in Punjab and KP to go on hunger strikes.

He claimed that in the Toshakhana reference, old employee Inam Shah and customs appraiser have been made approvers.

He alleged that NAB had valued a 1.8 crore rupee necklace at 318 crore rupees, which PTI had bought for 90 lakh rupees.

He questioned why references against Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari in Toshakhana cases are not being heard and speculated that NAB might bring new gifts after the new case.

He said that for the 9 May cases, approvers are being prepared against him.

He recalled that during the attack in Wazirabad, he named General Faisal but there was no protest or vandalism at that time. He mentioned the attacks on his home on 14 March and another attack at the judicial complex on 18 March.

Imran Khan noted that despite his lawyers’ assurance of cooperation, Rangers and police raided his home and vandalized it.

On 18 March, police attacked him again during a court appearance. He had anticipated his arrest and had called for peaceful protests at GHQ before his arrest.

He criticized the government’s response to PTI’s peaceful protests, suggesting it was deemed as rebellion.

He argued that if they had not been peaceful, Yasmin Rashid would not have prevented people from entering the Jinnah House. He again claimed that CCTV footage of the 9 May incidents was stolen by ISI.

Imran Khan criticized Nawaz Sharif for shedding crocodile tears and blamed the previous government for high inflation due to expensive IPP agreements.

He claimed that the PML-N government left behind the largest current account deficit in history.

He also criticized the arrests of current PTI chairman and spokespersons, condemning the police raids and arrests at the PTI central office, and said that democracy is being undermined.

Imran Khan mentioned that the country is being run by General Asim Munir and that the situation in KP is out of control.

He criticized the idea of a technocrat setup and suggested that it would be better to impose martial law instead.

He claimed that the country’s economy is in a bad state, multinational companies are leaving, and professionals are moving abroad. He asserted that the only solution to the crisis is clean and transparent elections.

Imran Khan called Mohsin Naqvi a fraud and a viceroy, claiming he has not made any mistakes and that others should apologize to him.

When asked about the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner by General (retd) Faiz, he said that Faiz did whatever Qamar Bajwa instructed, and Bajwa was known for stabbing in the back. He criticized Bajwa for his own agenda.

Regarding an interview published in a foreign magazine, Imran Khan said he provided points to his people, which were used to prepare the interview while he was in jail.
