In essence, every force that resists Israel is being targeted. Israel has now bombed the Syrian capital, Damascus, after Lebanon. On the other hand, Israel has launched a ground operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to media reports, Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon yesterday resulted in the martyrdom of 108 civilians, including three Hezbollah commanders.
After reducing Gaza to rubble and killing 41,000 people, Israel is now expanding its aggressive, expansionist, and oppressive ambitions to Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. Recently, it has become evident that Israel is relentlessly pursuing its plans without any concern for the global response. The world has become indifferent, and major powers have turned a blind eye to Palestine, supporting only Israel’s stance. Everyone is worried about Israel, but no one seems to care about the killings of innocent Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrian Muslims.
Two days ago, during the final day of the high-level debate at the UN General Assembly, Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh warned that “Israel’s widespread and unchecked aggression is causing dangerous tensions in the Middle East, which will have unimaginable consequences for global peace and security.” In fact, Israel’s ongoing occupation of Syrian territories, including the Golan Heights, since 1967, and its continued acts of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity reflect the failure of the United Nations, particularly the Security Council, to put an end to these actions.
In one way or another, every force resisting Israel is being targeted, whether it’s in Iran, Palestine, Israel, or Lebanon. Every voice raised against Israel is being silenced or suppressed. By assassinating Hassan Nasrallah, Israel has sent a clear and firm message that it is playing with fire and is capable of doing so. Israel firmly believes that the world can do nothing against it and continues to commit acts of inhumanity.
Inhumane military actions and war crimes are being committed, with thousands of innocent and defenseless people being massacred. Despite these ongoing atrocities, the United States continues to provide military and financial aid to Israel. The U.S. is fully aware that all of this aid is being used against defenseless Palestinians, yet it is still being provided. This clearly indicates that the U.S. is complicit in Israel’s war crimes.
There is no country in the region or globally that is willing to raise its voice against such actions or attempt to stop Israel. Nor is there any country left with the moral courage to pass a resolution against Israel through international forums. Although the U.S. periodically sheds crocodile tears and appears to condemn Israeli actions, there is no real comparison between Israel and Palestine. Israel is a wealthy and advanced nation with high-tech exports and a defense system equipped with cutting-edge technology and cyber tools.
Israel has a larger military and abundant resources, with a stable economy supported by U.S. aid and significant trade. In contrast, Palestinians lack resources of any kind. Most of their land and resources are under Israeli occupation, and the rest will soon follow if the international community does not take concrete steps to stop the bloodshed and deaths in Gaza. The Palestinian nation will be wiped out if nothing is done. Whether people acknowledge it or not, the global powers are responsible for allowing the Israel-Palestine conflict to reach this point. They could have played a role in finding a fair and just solution but chose not to, exhibiting bias instead.
For the past 75 years, it has been evident that Israel has received undue support and financial aid, leading to its growth and the expansion of its resources. As a result, Israel’s leadership today is unwilling to listen to any advice, counsel, or warning. The Security Council’s recent resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is largely the result of pressure from Russia and China, and it can be seen as Russia’s successful attempt to gain a foothold in the Middle East.
The U.S. has begun trying to bring India under its influence in South Asia, but Russia and China’s response to this is unexpected for the U.S. Russia and China will not accept U.S. presence in this strategic region under any circumstances. Israel’s rulers are committing atrocities against Palestinians to demonstrate their power to Arab countries, ensuring that no one dares to stand against them. To a large extent, they have succeeded in this objective.
The U.S. will never abandon Israel. In this context, the U.S. is not fooling the world but is openly backing a genocidal state in Gaza. As a superpower, the U.S. should at least admit to its contradictory foreign policy instead of defending it. The U.S. government is so powerful that it doesn’t need to hide its real intentions, but since Israel and Iran are not global superpowers, they cannot fully reveal the truth.
Despite Israel’s provocations, Iran has not responded with direct attacks, likely because Iran does not want to provoke Israel and give it a reason to destroy its nuclear energy facilities. Israel has already assassinated several of Iran’s nuclear scientists.
After the martyrdoms of Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah, Iran has done nothing beyond issuing statements. This raises the critical question: if Iran is unable to respond despite Israel’s provocations, does this mean that Israel understands Iran’s power? Additionally, Israel knows that wealthy Arab countries do not support Hamas’ approach and align themselves with the PLO’s strategy. They also do not support Hezbollah’s politics or militancy.
Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian disaster. Hundreds of people are martyred daily, with even more injured. The destruction of infrastructure adds to the tragedy. Yet the focus is on achieving a temporary ceasefire. Considering the presence of the UN and other global powers, neither a temporary nor permanent ceasefire should be difficult to achieve. However, only words and statements of solidarity with Palestinians are being issued, with no concrete action being taken to end their suffering. If the world’s major powers wanted to, they could stop Israeli leaders in a moment because Israel is not isolated from the international community.
Israel is part of the global community. If the U.S. were to stop supporting Israel, if the European Union were to boycott Israeli products, or if the Muslim world alone stopped using Israeli goods, would Israel have any means of economic survival? Yet, everyone remains silent and watches the spectacle. Financial aid is being given to Palestinians, but there is no sign of political or moral support. Israel is not facing any obstacles in implementing its aggressive plans and intends to complete all of them.
Israel no longer fears global opposition or regards anyone as significant. If there is still justice in the world and a genuine desire to work for humanity, then action must be taken against the tyrannical and oppressive Israel. The entire world bears the responsibility to stop Israel’s aggression if justice and humanity are to prevail.
