Islamabad: An 18-member special committee has been formed to work on the Charter of Parliament, consisting of 12 government members and 6 opposition members.
The special committee is tasked with improving the functioning of Parliament and enhancing the Charter of Parliament.
According to a notification issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, the special committee has been established under Rule 244B of the National Assembly Rules.
The committee will make recommendations to improve parliamentary functions, parliamentary procedures, the Constitution, and National Assembly rules and business.
The notification states that the special committee will include representation from all political parties. Members of the special committee will include Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Khurshid Shah, Naveed Qamar, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Aminul Haq, Chaudhry Salik, and Abdul Aleem Khan.
Additionally, the committee will include Pollen Baloch, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar, and members such as Akhtar Mengal, Barrister Gohar Ali, Hamid Hussain, Shahida Akhtar, Hameed Raza, Khalid Magsi, Ijaz-ul-Haq, and Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
