The Gaza Ministry of Health has launched a polio vaccination campaign in response to the risk of a polio outbreak due to the devastation caused by Israeli bombings.
The vaccination campaign, which started in Khan Younis, aims to reach all children in Gaza and is expected to conclude on September 12.
The World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees announced the vaccination campaign in a joint press conference, following which vaccination began at Nasser Hospital.
The campaign will provide polio vaccines to children in central Gaza from September 1 to 4, followed by Khan Younis from September 5 to 9, and will continue in Gaza City and northern Gaza from September 9 to 12.
