Islamabad: A total of 13,452 candidates have obtained nomination papers for the local elections in Islamabad.
According to media, the process of obtaining and submitting nomination papers for the local elections in Islamabad is ongoing. So far, 13,452 candidates have acquired nomination papers.
For the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman, 356 candidates have submitted their papers.
For the farmers’ seats, 268 nomination papers have been received by the District Returning Office. For the youth seats, 256 candidates have submitted their papers.
Additionally, 95 papers have been received for minority seats, 417 for women’s seats, and 1,508 for general seats.
In total, 2,900 nomination papers have been received by the District Returning Office.
According to the Election Commission, nomination papers can be submitted until August 28 for the local elections scheduled for October 9.
