In an astonishing feat, an 11-year-old boy from China has amazed internet users by building his own rocket, writing 600 lines of code to achieve it.
Yes, really! This young boy, Yan Hongxin, learned physics and chemistry programming on his own and is now known as “Rocket Boy.”
Yan shared his rocket-building journey on social media, which has left millions of people in awe.
His fascination with rockets began at the age of 4 when he watched the launch of Long March 2. Since then, he has been taking online courses and teaching himself physics and chemistry.
Recognizing his passion, his parents converted a room in their house into a rocket research studio.
In 2023, Yan built his first rocket and named it Xin Sheng. However, his project wasn’t successful as the rocket crashed after launch.
According to the South China Morning Post, Yan explained that the rocket did not meet expectations and suffered damage to its springs and lithium battery.
Despite the crash, Yan’s father considered the first flight a success.
Undeterred by this initial failure, Yan has developed an improved version of his rocket and hopes that the next launch will be successful.
Yan’s father also mentioned that his son aspires to pursue university education in the future.
